It is hard to describe the thing that binds together the work of an artist, architect and printmaker, but here is a very brief attempt;
An architect focuses not so much on the masses of walls, floor and roof, but on the voids, the spaces and light that occur between them. As an artist I tend to focus on motion, gesture—especially in my figurative work. As a printmaker it is not so much the objects I depict that matter most, but the atmosphere that holds them fixed and still. In all cases it seems to be the elusive things that exist because of, and adjacent to, the solid, matter-of-fact and very tangible things in the world. That seems to be the common thread that spans the various media I have leaned to use so far. Please feel free to look through my web site if you are interested in seeing and reading more.
